The idea behind these pencils is amazing and super nifty. These pencils can be used ANYWHERE on face and that’s what makes them amazing. Our makeup bag would be so simplified if we could use pencils everywhere.  Just purchase a pencil and use it as lipstick, blush and eyeshadow (wow! save money). There were tons of shades available but I wanted to play safe so I got the shade #25. Enough of blabbering, let’s move to the review of Etude House Play 101 Pencil Shade #25.

My Experience with Etude house play 101 pencils #25:

This pencil is designed in such a way that you can use it anywhere on your face. Well, since the shade is pink I don’t use it on my eyes for obvious reasons. I use it on my lips only but I tried using it on my cheeks but it doesn’t show up till you don’t swipe it 6-7 times which is a headache.

Etude House Play 101 Pencil Shade #25 comes in a very sleek and slim pencil packaging. All the shades come with their own corresponding numbers and shades at the bottom which makes them easy to identify especially if you have more of these pencils. The shade which you see at the bottom is exactly similar to what you see after swiping it on lips. The packaging is twist-up so no product wastage while sharpening them. However, these pencils come with their own sharpener just in case you need thinner definition. Overall, the packaging is perfect and very thoughtful.

The shade #25 is a very pretty raspberry pink and is quite intense. The shade is pigmented and a single swipe hides pigmentation so you don’t need to layer it up. i Love using the shade with full intensity on days when I need perfectly defined lips however on everyday basis I use it lightly.

The texture is very creamy and it glides without tugging even on dry lips which is really surprising considering it’s a pencil. The texture is smooth, moisturizing and it never dries out lips. My lips are naturally dry so whenever I’m in a hurry that I don’t have time to prep my lips, I just apply this pencil and I’m good to go. Initially it gives a glossy sheen to lips however within 10 minutes, it settles down to semi-matte finish and feels hydrated too. I’ve seen that some matte lip-pencils peel off from some area when you try to rub both lips together however with this pencil i have not experienced anything like this.

The pencil stays for more than 5 hours with full intensity and then starts fading which is really commendable because i was not expecting such good staying power. The best thing is it survives water and light meals. Overall i am very happy and satisfied with the product; it’s literally amazing. There are around 50 shades available in this range and I’m so impressed that ill definitely get more of these whenever I get chance.

Pros:

  • Fuss-free and convenient packaging
  • Vibrant pretty raspberry pink shade
  • Creamy texture
  • Applies smoothly without tugging
  • Intensely pigmented
  • Sets to a semi-matte finish within 10 minutes and looks very natural
  • It has very slight sheen to it however it never looks tacky
  • The shade can be used as an intense hot pink or everyday pink
  • Quick and easy application
  • Stays for more than 5 hours
  • Can be used as lip-liner, lipstick and even as blush
  • Doesn’t accentuate dry lips

Cons:

  • I seriously can’t think of any con
